I am feeling so tired now. Thank God it's the end of the week. I love Fridays because I only have one lecture from 11am to 12pm and technically I can skip it since the podcast is online. But knowing that I have paid so much to come here to study I always go for my lecture, although my tuition fees are a sunken cost. In fact my tuition fees for the next school year has risen. Whatever about the deflation we are expected to face? I think there is no better time to study Economics. Haha this sounds like a line in an application form but yeah I mean it. My lecturers are covering materials on the credit crunch in the lectures in the coming weeks so that is something to look forward to. But statistics is really killing all of us right now. All the estimation is sucking the life out of me. And it doesn't help when our lecturer is a Chinaman with a thick accent and who cannot speak English properly. This is another disincentive to pay my tuition fees.
Recently some students have been on protest against the attacks on Gaza and it's really interesting because I have never witness student protests before. A group of students have decided to occupy the Old Theatre's stage and they really just occupy it by sitting on it with their placards and banners and refusing to budge. While the lectures try to go on as normal but of course some lectures were disrupted and people are unhappy about it. Well those who are unhappy are mainly Singaporeans haha. Apparently LSE invests in a firm that supplies arms to Isreali army and people are petitioning against things like that. So yeah it is exciting. But security is also heightened as the public try to join the students on protest. But today marks the end of the 'occupation'. Some people are afraid to go to school too because of all the tensions but I reckon these people are either Palestinians or Isrealis.
I hate fire alarms. I had my third one for the term this morning at 5am. When the fire alarm goes off this means that we have to get out of the hall quickly into the open, into the cold. So yeah it is bad. And you will be half asleep so it gets worst. Most of the time the fire alarms went off because of drunk people setting it off. It's freaking irritating. I think I will just hide in my closet the next time the alarm goes off so I can skip the process of going out waiting for the fire engine to leave and getting back in.
Chinese New Year is coming. Thankfully I have a few dinners to attend so I will not be too lonely LOL. Dark chocolate McVites rock. Yawnz
